Cassia seeds are formed in a pod on the Cassia fistula tree which is commonly called the Golden Shower due to it’s amazing flowers. The tree is not only used for the seeds but the bark is also harvested and used in cooking. It is similar to cinamon bark and is often mistaken for cinnamon in spice shops.
Cassia seed tea is reputed to have the following health benefits:

Add 1 to 2 tsp to a cup of hot water. Allow to soak for 10 minutes before drinking.
The tea can be mixed with green tea and may be flavored with honey.
